• P(S)OTD: Holy Schnikes!

    Today’s photo is really just a screenshot of a meme off from my phone, which had to work, as today I made no attempts to take a photo of anything.

    The significance of this image lies in the fact the the UNM Lobo basketball team played Marquette University’s squad in a first round NCAA Tournament game early this evening, and as the lower 10-seed, the Lobos outplayed the 7-seed Golden Eagles to pick up a first NCAA tourney game win since 2012.

    “Holy Schnikes” was the exclamation of Chris Farley’s character Tommy Callahan in the classic film “Tommy Boy” upon meeting his father’s fiancé for a first time, and this exclamation and meme was suitable for use today as the Lobos surprisingly beat the team from Marquette, which was the college that fictional character Tommy Callahan attended, as well as the alma mater of the actor who played him in the film.
