    Waiting for mom and dad.

It was a joy early into the week to meet my folks for dinner at one of my dad’s favorite places- Red Lobster. The young waitress taking care of us was three weeks into her job, and my mom flattered her immensely. We talked about Ark City and some folks they knew, and how well my dad’s mother cooked, and how it was often chicken on Sundays at my mom’s. Their high school friend Loye Sparks went on the play basketball at Cowley County Community College, and then on at University of Kansas. Ron Stover, a close friend of my dad’s from when her was a kid. passed away last week. Jerry Stone, another friend, and a former long-time basketball coach, was laid up, and my mom thought I might write him letter. My dad’s left eye watered from allergies. My dad had his first taste of shrimp as a kid on an infrequent visit to Deibel’s Cafe in downtown Ark City. He’s loved it ever since.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
