• POTD: Gym Walk

I am fortunate to live not more than a few blocks from Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center, a really nice complex for community and senior activities ranging from classes and sports to meal opportunities and group outings. At the end of 2023 I thought I would get back into shape with my sister and her husband by coming to the fitness center at this place, and within two months I had tweaked a knee and somehow agitated my left shoulder. I had had two stellar days of senior men’s open session basketball play before my body said nope, and I shut most activities down over there.

Today, in January of 2025, I finally made my way back to Domingo Baca and got my membership to the community center renewed. In a pleasant twist, my sister also came there this evening, so that while I took time to unwind walking boucoup laps around the second level track in the gym, my sister was hooping it up with some women on the court below.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
