My sister’s family was invited by close friends to camp overnight at Chaco on a group site. Did I want to join them? Sure.

Friday afternoon we drove out 550 from Albuquerque and on into Chaco Canyon and Gallo Campgrounds. We ate hot dogs and everyone socialized. We went to bed late, and Kristi, Grant and I got up early to be able to photograph and explore in crisp golden morning light.

We had a fun morning of exploring, and after noon, gray skies and rumbles of thunder crept toward us, so it was time to go home. We stopped at El Bruno’s in Cuba for a delectable New Mexcian food dinner before finishing our journey back into Albuquerque.

I took over a thousand photos. Chaco was a lot different than I had imagined it being, but the differences were better.

We had a fantastic overnight trip.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
