• Shoot for the Moon

It’s almost 10, but I am going to try it. I’ll try to get up and get some photos of the super blue blood moon in the early morning. The camera bag is laid out, and a camping chair, and a headlamp, and a coat. My camera does not have the most powerful lens for it, but still, it’s worth trying.

I guess that’s how it is to experience a lot of great things in life.

To be where they are, when they are, might mean you have to step out of your routine, off of your schedule, and accept some of that discomfort that comes with the deviation.

You have to accept that you might not have everything you need to make it seem like as great a deal as others can make it, but you still have enough to enjoy some amazing results.

And you have to just try. You just have to get yourself ready before hand a little bit, and then show up where you need to be to let the good stuff happen.

Like seeing an early morning super blue blood moon eclipse.

    Or making the winning shot.

    Or getting a great job.

    Or finishing a novel.

    Or cooking an enjoyable meal.

You may not be the best chef. You may be poor with the measuring cups. You may not have non-stick pans and the sharpest knives.

But if you take some time and try, you can still be surprised with what you come up with, despite what you think you don’t bring to the moment.

By just showing up, you bring a lot.

Well, tomorrow early, I am literally “shooting for the moon”.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
