• Ground Clouds

The exciting and odd experience of the day occurred this morning as I drove to work.

When I left the house and headed to west, I noticed the mountains were behind a low bank of fog.

I got on Wyoming and headed north, and got on Paseo and headed east to the freeway, and then got on I-25 south.

At about Jefferson, I saw a giant cloud sitting on the ground as I approached, and then I was in it.

    Into the cloud...

    Into the cloud…

And then at Montgomery, I was out of it and under a clear blue sky and the lamp of the sun.

    Out of the cloud...

    Out of the cloud…

I continued toward downtown, and behold, at about Central, another cloud was lazing over the freeway. I entered it, and then exited I-25 on Lead, and drove west through the light fog.

    Into the cloud...

    Into the cloud…

    In the cloud...

    In the cloud…

When I parked at work, cloud stuff hung in the sky, clinging to buildings, blocking out some sunlight to the south and west..

About a half an hour after I arrived, the fog over downtown lifted, and I went onto the parking structure at Second Street to try and get a picture of the clouds resting by the mountains. They were still there.

The sky was otherwise a lovely clear blue above the low blanket of clouds slipping across the city.

It was a strange morning, indeed.

And- of course- on this day, I left my camera home. At least there’s the phone.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
