I don’t usually just post food stuff on the old blog here, but today I had a truly remarkable meal at the Owl Cafe.

For lunch, a few people from the office were heading up to the restaurant, and it sounded good on a sluggish Friday. With the invite, I had to join the crew.

Now, the meal would have been fantastic with the typical platter purchase- the green chile cheeseburger. You can’t go wrong there.

But when we received the menus which had some new inserts, one burger immediately jumped out me which was a change to my normal fare.

    The Sweet Red Chili Burger.

What was on that thing, you ask? Sweet red chili sauce, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, and pickled jalapenos.

Now I am not normally a red chile guy. I like it, but my go to is usually always green chile on beef and burgers. So, this burger choice was different for me.

    But it looked so good.

And as a final shift in my order pattern, when Johnathon my colleague requested an order of cheese and turkey gravy covered fries, and the waitress said in all of her 18 years working at the Owl Cafe no one had ever ordered that from her, I then said “Could you make that two orders, please?”

And he, and I, were right.

That meal- both burger and fries- was fantastic.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
