Send me outside to a solitary tree
Where I’ll sit and my mind will be free
From the shock jocks that wail
    And advertisers that sell
Life necessities for a nominal fee.

Send me outside to a mumbling stream
Where the water will run and I’ll dream
    In that place without sound
    Where wonders abound,
A place where the muses can teem.

Send me outside to the top of that hill
Where caves, crests and chasms will thrill,
    Where Sun is my friend,
Along with Rain and with Wind,
And my heart runs but my spirit is still.

Send me outside to the shadowy dell
Far away from that strong city smell
Where the leaves play and birds
    Say the only heard words
And the cool breeze casts an enchanting spell.

Send me outside to the solitary tree
Where for once, when I think, it is me.
    Where deep from within
    I remember again
What it means to really hear and to see.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
