    I’m not an astronomer.

Ask me to find the Big Dipper for you on any given night, and I’d be lost.

I never know if the bright one in the twilight sky is Venus or Mars or Saturn, if you asked me. I’d probably guess Venus, but I don’t really know for sure.

However, at this point in my life, it never fails that I won’t be able to see it, if it is up.

I can scan any nighttime sky, and if it is up, my eyes will locate it immediately.

There is the scabbard, there is the belt. There are the shoulders, and there is the hem of the tunic.

I can point out Orion to you, always. I just always see it.

There are some things in life that become obvious to us when we learn to see them.

    Like constellations.

    And character.

    And injustice.

    And love.

But you have to learn to see them first- and you do- based on how you interpet the meaningful moments of your life.

Or, as Sir Baron John Lubbock once said, “What we see depends mainly on what we look for.”

And, often times, we will see those things that we are certain we’ll see.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
