It’s funny- we think because we are tied into social networks, we would feel ourselves more intimately connected with others in our life and in our world.

Not the case, creator Shimi Cohen argues in this remarkable short video.  Shimi makes some poignant observations about the human heart in modern times.  Loneliness remains one of the chief struggles faced by people in the world today, despite our internet connectedness and our heavy online networking.

All of our internet time does’t really carry us deeper into our relationships with others. Only by spending real time with others in our lives can we really nourish intimacy with them.

“The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved.”
    ― Mother Teresa

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
