In the early 2000’s, I listened to a lot of Adult Contemporary Pop, and in 2000, this group released a first album that had a song that got a lot of airplay- “I Think God Can Explain”. I liked Splender’s edgy pop rock sound, so I bought their album, and then two years later, they dropped their second (and last) project. This is a song off of album two that turned out to be one of my favorites of theirs, not so much for its lyrics, but for its striding, peppy tone.

Splender is one of those bands you take a chance on, and you realize after a few listens to an album of theirs that all of their songs are good. I go back to them off and on for some motivational music, as their guitar-gilded youthful angst finds expression in some strong hook-driven reflective rock.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
